Man, those were good cookies

Hi there stitchers!

A fine, high-calorie, time was had by all at the post-holiday cookie exchange. Here's a sample.

Kristen brought truly diabolical brownies. Make a batch of brownies, add one chopped pecan pie to the batter (yes, that's what I said) and bake. Only Southern Living would dare be so over the top?

No, Chris topped it: Make two batches of brownie mix. Put one batch in prepared pan. Cover surface with your favorite chocolate candy bars. Add second batch on top. Bake, and sign up for an aerobics class while your fit your yoga pants still fit.

Bernadette brought fudge, oh so yummy, but we didn't get her to hand over the recipe. Still working that bit of information, do stay tuned.

Shop dogs have to careful of their figures: We depend on humans to stitch our needlepoint collars, so we dasn't outgrow them. With that in mind, Mitchell, our retail therapy dog, brought a batch of homemade dog biscuits. The recipe: Whole-wheat flour, flaxseed, yeast, and Aiken tap water, then bake 'em all night so they're good and crunchy. (Mitchell's household relocated from Berkeley; they're so whole foodish.)

Stitch 'n' Bitch resumes tomorrow--we'll be transcribing some savory appetizer recipes for you soon.

Come see our new shipment of knitting books, y'hear?
Annabelle
